GARDENERS from a village near Tenbury are to show off their skills.

In an initiative involving people from throughout the village, St Michael’s is holding an ‘open gardens’ weekend.

It is the first time that this has been staged.

There will be 12 different gardens open to the public and each one of them has a different theme.

It means that the gardens should be at their best at height of summer.

The weekend of activities will revolve around the village hall that will act as a host and operations centre.

Visitors will be able to buy a range of items from the Village Hall where there will also be tea and coffee, light refreshments and local cream teas.

Profits from the weekend will help to pay for improvements to the entrance area and toilets at the Village Hall. The Open Gardens weekend is on Saturday and Sunday, June 29 and 30 with the gardens open between 12noon and 5pm. Tickets are £5 and children are free.
