DONKEYS Bluebell and Daisy will be delighting their fans once more in front of the Abbey Hotel and Malvern Museum on Sunday at noon

It’s a definite date in the diary for local families and their much-loved pets as Malvern’s favourite donkeys will be making their final public appearance.

They will be decked out in special floral garlands as they help organiser Reverend Val Needham and her team to celebrate decade of music and poetry, song and laughter, joy and blessings.

There will be May sprigs, old traditions, rose petals, spectacular costumes, and much more to welcome in the Spring, with music from Garry Low and Liz Pearman.

Sixteen-year-old Master Magician Thomas Coombes and Grace Giudicotti-Poplawska, ten, will be inviting aspiring apprentices to make magic.

And there will be the traditional battle of the young Oak King and Old Father Winter before the crowning of the Queen of the May.

The event will finish with a triple blessing at the Malvhina Spring on Belle Vue Island at 1.05pm, conducted by Revs Sheila Simmonds, Peter Coombes and David Wetton.

Malvern will not just be saying farewell to its donkeys, as organiser Reverend Val Needham and her team are retiring.

Collections will be made for the Penny Ha’Penny Horse and Pony Rescue Centre at Leigh and the Malvern Spa Association.
