AN actress-and-singer-turned-author wowed Bromsgrove schoolchildren with her enchanting stories on a recent visit.
Liverpool-born author and storyteller Cat Weatherill was guest of honour at Bromsgrove Pre-Preparatory School as part of their World Book Day celebrations.
Cat studied drama at university and then became an actress, appearing on television in programmes such as Chucklevision and Casualty.
She then spent a few years as a professional singer before, in 1999, she discovered storytelling.
Cat now travels all over the world, telling tales for adults, as well as children. She has performed in Africa, India, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Russia and across Europe.
The children were enthralled by Cat’s magical stories and activities.
She also brought in musical instruments to accompany the stories and bring them alive.
Mrs Clare Cattell, Head of Year 1, said: "We were delighted to welcome Cat Weatherill to school – the children loved hearing her wonderful stories and dressed up as their favourite characters."
