PEOPLE in Worcestershire have been wearing red and dressing up in fancy outfits to raise money for Red Nose Day.

Red Nose Day is a fundraising campaign run by the charity Comic Relief.

The day involves the community coming together to have fun, raise funds and help change the lives of vulnerable children.

Donations received are contributed to help support people in need around the country and internationally.

The Worcester News asked its readers to send in photos yesterday (March 15) of their fun outfits for Red Nose Day.

Our readers did not disappoint, as plenty of pictures were shared throughout the day.

Thank you to everyone who has got involved and sent in their photos. There will be another feature in Monday’s Worcester News with more pictures.

Red Nose Day was launched in 1988 and has become a day when people across the country get together and raise money at home, school and work.

Children from the Hollymount School, in Worcester, has taken part in a charity danceathon event to raise funds for Comic Relief.

A total of 420 pupils joined in with the fun.

The school was inspired to complete a danceathon after watching BBC presenters, Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly, dance non-stop for over 24 hours for Comic Relief.

Emma Morris, a teacher from the school, said: “The children loved it. They were still buzzing even after all the dancing.”

Mrs Morris, aged 31, added: “Each class took part and danced for around an hour. Every child who wanted to take part brought in a donation for charity. Once all the classes had completed their dancing, the whole school got together to dance.”

The children began dancing Thursday morning, during school hours, and completed their danceathon challenge by Friday afternoon.
