AN air ambulance was called to help after “concerns” for a man’s wellbeing were reported in Upper Moor.

Paramedics treated the male patient who was found “near a brook and down a muddy track”, a West Midlands Ambulance spokesman has said.

Facebook users had posted about seeing an air ambulance flying over Worcester on Wednesday afternoon (March 13) with some believing it was coming to land in St John’s.

However, the incident, originally reported at 12.16pm, was actually on Evesham Road, Upper Moor.

“We have been called to reports of concern for a patient’s welfare,” said the spokesman.

“We have sent two ambulances and a paramedic officer and [later] a Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham to the scene.

“The patient is near a brook and down a muddy track, so we are currently with him, treating him,” he said at the time.

Later in the day, he said: “The patient was taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital by land ambulance. He had been treated at the scene. There was concern for his welfare. [The log] doesn’t say he suffered any injuries. I don’t know what was going on.”

Ambulance crews left the scene at 2.09pm, he added.
