THE £1.5 million redevelopment of Crowngate Shopping Centre is set to begin in a few weeks, creating jobs for Worcestershire residents.
The renovation of Crowngate’s Friary Walk entrance is due to start in March, with proposed completion this autumn. Following investment from the shopping centre’s owner, The Crown Estate, the updates will include new windows and a modernised entrance at Angel Place.
Mike Lloyd, centre manager at Crowngate Shopping Centre, said: “The investment helps to showcase Crowngate as a destination that continues to attract established brands and independent operators.
“It will open additional doors in terms of potential new businesses, which will increase employment and boost the local economy.”
Midlands-based construction company, adi Building & Refurbishment has been appointed to carry out the redevelopment, which will have a workforce comprising over 15 people from Worcestershire and neighbouring counties for the 26-week project.
