HE’S so incredibly famous, he even has his own Christmas advert on TV right now, and a tribute to the Rocket Man, Elton John, is zooming in the direction of The Everyman, in Cheltenham.

But due, no doubt, to the uncanny vastness of space, the show will not be landing there until the New Year.

However, touch-down is already being flagged up by the Regent Street venue all the same.

A spokesman said: “Entertainers are proud to present The Rocket Man: a tribute to Multi-Grammy award-winning legend and superstar, Sir Elton John.

“Join us on a musical journey, charting the rise to fame of one of the biggest selling artiste of all time.”

It’s certainly been a prolific career for Elton John, and it’s one well worth a tribute.

To date, the star has put out 30 albums and he’s sold more than 300m records.

On top of this, he’s had more than fifty Top 40 hits and Elton John has also clocked up seven consecutive number one albums in the U.S.

Famously, his tribute single ‘Candle in the Wind 1997’, which was originally of a homage to Marilyn Monroe but was rewritten in dedication to Diana, Princess of Wales, following her death, sold over 33m copies worldwide

The spokesman added: “Combining breath-taking vocal and piano performances, flamboyant costumes, a dazzling light show - all accompanied by an outstanding band and backing vocals.

“Travel back in time and be treated to all the hits such as Crocodile Rock, Philadelphia Freedom, Saturday Night’s Alright for Fighting, Are You Ready for Love, I’m Still Standing, I Guess That’s Why They Call It the Blues, Tiny Dancer, Your Song and of course Rocket Man.”

The date for the diary is Saturday, January 19, at 7.30pm.

Tickets are available now by phoning the box office on 01242 572573.
