BE sure to wear some flowers in your hair if you are going to a New Amen Corner concert in Worcester, but tinsel might have to do instead, given that it’s happening at Christmas, actually.

Either way, the New Amen Corner wants to generate that Summer of Love mood, no matter what the weather’s doing outside.

A spokesman said: “Over the last few years, New Amen Corner has emerged as the hottest revival act on the 60s circuit due to their ability to accurately recreate the sound and atmosphere of that era.

“Their powerhouse live show has made them one of the most exciting bands around. With their own period clothing, and with fans encouraged to don 60s attire, their shows really breathe life back into what must be music’s most prolific decade.”

New Amen Corner comprises Glen Leon (Lead Vocals/Guitar), Frogman Curtis (Tenor Sax), Dave Howson (Bass), Jules Benjamin (Keyboards/Guitar/Vocals) and Jack (Jacko) Howson (Drums).

The band has toured with some of the biggest names of the 60s, such as Mike Pender, Steve Ellis, Chip Hawkes and Chris Farlowe to name a few.

“This must-see show at Huntingdon Hall sees them collaborate with the voice of Manfred Mann, Mike d’Abo – the singer on such smashes as The Mighty Quinn, Just Like A Woman and My Name Is Jack, not to mention composer of such classics as Handbags and Gladrags and Build Me Up Buttercup.”

The spokesman added: “Don’t run Out Of Time, book your tickets and join them at Huntingdon Hall for what promises to me a memorable evening, taking a thrilling trip through the decade that invented pop music.”

The show takes place on December 19, at 7.30pm.
