FURTHER details have been announced for Bromsgrove’s Festival of Light Parade, which will illuminate the town and bring seasonal good will on Sunday December 9.

And because of 800 lanterns, it’s sure to be a rather bright occasion.

A spokesman said: “Bromsgrove Town Centre will once again be illuminated as The Festival of Light Parade, created in partnership with Artrix, NWedR and Bromsgrove District Council, returns for another year.

“The Festival of Light, is an atmospheric outdoor event, suitable for all the family. The event aims to bring together the people of Bromsgrove in a community celebration of togetherness, light and the Winter season.”

The spokesman added: “Artrix Arts Centre is programming the event and has once again collaborated with Associate Artist, Kristoffer Huball to create stunning paper lanterns, which will be candle lit and paraded through Bromsgrove’s High Street.

“Kristoffer has been working with lots of community groups, schools and families to create beautiful paper lanterns. There is one more opportunity for individuals to participate in a Lantern Making for the Brave workshop on Saturday December 1. Participants in this workshop will create more complicated designs. It’s free of charge, but spaces must be booked in advance.”

Artrix Associate Artist, Kristoffer said: “This year we’ve more than doubled the community work that we did in 2017, engaging 18 schools and community groups in lantern making workshops compared to last year’s 6. We’ve now made 521 lanterns and we’re projected to finish with a total of more than 800!

The parade starts at 8pm on the day.
