REVIEW
The Merry Trembloes Musical Event/St Peter’s Baptist Church, Worcester
On entering the main hall, I found the room almost full. Everyone chatting and looking forward to the musical evening.
Peter Penhallow welcomed everyone and Margaret Haywood, their conductor introduced The Merry Trembloes and The White Ladies Aston singers who also sang. Margaret invited audience participation.
The Merry Trembloes was started two years ago and some of the members had not sung before.
The group is about fun, enjoying yourself and of course use of the vocal chords is very good exercise for people with Parkinson’s as it helps maintain their strength.
Speech volume is one of the symptoms affected as Parkinson’s progresses.
The very enjoyable evening included If I ruled the World, Happy Talk (audience providing the hand actions), Can’t Help Falling in Love With You, Moon River, Catch a Falling Star, Imagine, Que Sera, Sera.
The Merry Trembloes have their own signature tune composed by Ron, to the tune Daisy, Daisy.
Two songs are appropriate namely Lean on Me and You’ll Never Walk Alone both reminding us that support is there for everyone whether you have Parkinson’s or are affected by someone having Parkinson’s.
An entertaining relaxed evening the audience appreciation being shown by the donations given.
