THE BBC Children in Need and One Show Rickshaw Challenge will be arriving in Malvern tonight.

Parts of the town centre will be shut off to traffic between 5pm and 9pm, and the rickshaw is expected to arrive in town between 6.30pm and 7.30pm, having started in Royal Wootton Bassett early this morning.

The One Show will be broadcasting live from the town centre at around 7pm and organisers are urging as many people as possible to turn out and cheer the team on.

Malvern Rotary Club and Malvern Inner Wheel will be collecting on behalf of Children in Need and will welcome the young cyclists.

"Please join us to make this stop in Malvern one to remember, said Lawrence Barry Jones of the club.

Six young people, all of whom have been supported by BBC Children in Need-funded projects, are taking part in the eight-day challenge, which started on Friday in Calais

After pedalling 31 miles through the service tunnel of the Channel Tunnel, the team neaded north and will be expected to finish at Salford on Friday

The team’s progress is being broadcast live on The One Show throughout the week, as co-presenter Alex Jones follows the team on their 423 mile journey.
