MALVERN-based rock band Dead Dads Club will be releasing its debut EP in the town on Friday.

The record, entitled Must Be Crazy, will be launched with a gig at Abbey Road Coffee, 11 Abbey Road, at 7pm.

Dead Dads Club formed in 2017 and have quickly established their presence on the local music scene along fellow Malvern rock bands Winchester, Nuns of the Tundra and The White Feather Collective.

The group consists of rhythm guitarist and singer lyricist Lee Richardson, Milo Fereirra Hayes on lead guitar, James Devine on drums and Matt Rawlings on bass.

Dead Dads Club performed alongside Worcestershire hard rockers HVMM for Independent Venue Week at the Marr's Bar in Worcester in February and have appeared twice at the legendary Sunflower Lounge in Birmingham.

They played with other Worcestershire bands at O2 Institute Showcase in Birmingham in April and recently headlined the tent stage at the Lake Festival.

Dead Dads Club band will return to the stage at the Victoria in Birmingham on September 28, performing alongside Dirty Orange and Whitelight.

They are also booked to play their first international show in Paris on November 24 with London-based alternative rock group, Naropa.

"We're all happy to finally get a release out," said Lee Richardson. "The response to our songs has been very positive so it'll be good to get them out to a wider audience. Big thanks to Chris Hutchinson whose studio we used to record, and to Will Turner for producing the EP.

β€œIt is boring to constantly listen to mass-produced, generic music on the radio. We aim to bridge the gap between the classic sound from the 60s and 70s and the next wave of successful guitar based bands. In Milo, we have one of the best guitarists around. If you don't tap your feet listening to us, we'll have failed.”

Dead Dads Club will be supported on Friday by singer/songwriter duo Angie and Gem, and Adam Giles.
