Once again the Chase’s sixth form has produced another impressive set of A-level results this summer.

A quarter of all entries resulted in either an A* or A grade with over 75 per cent of all entries achieving an A*-C grade.

Leading the way this year was Daniel Eyles with 2 A* grades together with 1 A grade and 1 B grade. This has helped Dan secure a place at Manchester University to study Theoretical Physics.

Beth Wolff and Sam White both achieved 1 A* grade together with 1 A and 2 B grades whilst Adam Dickenson and Sophie Wallace both achieved 1 A* grade together with 2 A grades.

Other students who performed well included Ellie Blannin, Lucy Colbourne, Caitlin Fitzgerald and Harry Neil who all achieved 3 A grades each.

A special mention must go to Tom Lawson who has secured a place to study Cinema and Photography at the prestigious Ithaca College in New York State, USA.

Head Mike Fieldhouse is delighted with the performance of this cohort of students, who have surpassed all expectations and who should be very proud of their achievements. ‘We were a bit unsure of what to expect this summer with all the changes made to all of the new A Level courses.

"The Chase’s teachers must take credit in doing a phenomenal job to prepare the students so brilliantly well, especially with limited sample materials available for many of these new courses. A record number of students have secured a place at their first choice university or on a higher level apprenticeship which is always our main aim in gauging success at the end of Year 13.

"Studying A levels and other Applied Level 3 courses for two years at The Chase Sixth Form helps to provide the students with the skills and confidence to progress to their choice of employment. Our aim is to support all of our students in reaching their potential and facilitating their aspirations for the future."
