A SPECIALLY adapted car that was stolen from a Kidderminster care home has been recovered by police today (Tuesday, August 14).

Officers put out an appeal for information after the green Peugeot Partner Combi car was taken from Brinton Care Home in Stourport Road at around 6am yesterday (Monday, August 13).

But the vehicle was discovered on the Aggborough estate in the town and forensic examinations will be carried out before it is returned to the home.

Inspector Jake Wight, of Wyre Forest Safer Neighbourhood Team, had slammed the “stupidity and thoughtlessness” of the crime.

It is believed the burglars climbed over the garden fence to gain access to the property.

The keys to two other vehicles, and a purse, were also taken.

The car is used to transport wheelchair-bound service users at the home and could have had a devastating effect on the home had it not been recovered.

Kidderminster SNTs tweeted: “This vehicle has been found on the Aggborough estate today. This car will be checked for forensic evidence and then returned to the care home.”

Investigations into the theft continue and anyone who saw the car being left in Aggborough or has any information on the initial raid is asked to call 101 quoting incident number 89S 130818 or Inspector Wright directly on 01562 826171.

Alternatively, people can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
