A MAN has been taken to hospital after threatening to jump off Stambermill Viaduct in Stourbridge today (Wednesday).
Eyewitnesses who have contacted the News said that the man did not jump and was 'talked down' by emergency services.
West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed they were called by police to an incident at the junction of the A458 Birmingham Street and Stepping Stones, where the final stretch of the viaduct is located.
An ambulance spokesperson said: "We were called by police just after 3pm today with concerns about the potential welfare of a person.
"One person was taken to hospital."
Birmingham Street was closed for a period while emergency services were at the scene but the road was reopened to traffic by 4pm.
