A MOTHER of five stole three bottles of wine from a city shop.

Leann Reeve, 27, of Wells Road, Worcester and an accomplice took wine from the Co-Op in Lichfield Avenue, Ronkswood, with the three bottles valued at £21 in total.

Reeve added to her court debts which are in excess of £4,000 for a number of offences.

Orton Colette, prosecuting, said: "The defendant and her co-defendant entered the Co-Op in Lichfield Avenue.

"Her co-defendant concealed a bottle of wine in her bag and they left without payment.

"Around half an hour later, they returned and concealed two bottles of wine in her bag.

"They were seen on the shops CCTV."

Judith Kenny, defending said: "Her offences started after the break-up of a marriage.

"Her ex-husband got custody of their five children and she did not get to see them.

"She has now started a new life in Birmingham. She has got an agreement now that she can see her children once a month.

"She is living on the breadline and her ex-husband paid her fare to get here."

She was given a conditional discharge and told to pay £10.50 in compensation to the Co-Op. She also had to pay £50 court costs and a £20 victim surcharge.

Reeve appeared in Worcester Magistrates Court on Thursday May 17.
