FOLLOWING an appeal by police last week, the death of a 42-year-old woman in Bromsgrove is not currently being treated as suspicious.
Kelly Godfrey from Bromsgrove died in hospital on Wednesday, May 16.
A post-mortem, which took place over the weekend, established Kelly's cause of death is likely to be linked to a medical condition.
Detective Inspector Gerry Smith said: "We would like to thank everyone who shared the initial appeal which was issued last week.
"Our thoughts are with Kelly's family and friends at this sad time."
Police received a report that a woman had been assaulted on Tuesday, May 15, and attended an address in Lingfield Walk, Catshill.
One ambulance attended at around 5.30pm and "treated a woman on the scene who had multiple injuries", a West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said.
Kelly was admitted to hospital but died the following day.
A 28-year-old woman from Bromsgrove who was arrested on suspicion of assault has been released under investigation.
