UNSUNG heroes from Kidderminster will be honoured later this year through a popular annual awards scheme.

Kidderminster Town Council is inviting nominations for its Community Awards, with winners being announced on Thursday, September 27 at a Town Hall ceremony.

The awards are aimed at recognising and rewarding the amazing work of individuals, groups and organisations in Kidderminster, whose dedication and commitment has improved the lives and well-being of local residents.

One of the awards running this year will be a ‘Junior Award’ developed specifically to reward young unsung heroes, whether it’s within school or the town.

The nominations are held across the six wards and rely on the public to vote for their community hero.

Councillor Martin Stooke, Mayor of Kidderminster said: “We believe these awards are crucial to recognising Kidderminster’s unsung community heroes.

“It is often easy to miss the acts of kindness within the community that enrich our lives on a daily basis; these awards aim to shine a light on those people.”

Deadline for nominations is Tuesday, July 31 and to put forward a community champion, nominators must contact email townclerk@kidderminstertowncouncil.gov.uk, fill out a form on the www.kidderminstertowncouncil.gov.uk or by calling 01562 732680.
