A POST Office could soon open at a village shop which has been without the service for three years.

The Post Office is proposing to re-open in Wormelow at the Carrot and Wine Stores.

The village's branch closed in 2014 at the village shop, which has since been knocked down and rebuilt at the existing location, opening in June.

Post Office services would be delivered from an open-plan till alongside the retail counter of the convenience store throughout the shop’s opening hours.

Opening hours would be Monday to Sunday from 7am to 9pm, which would be more than double the branch’s previous opening hours.

Suzanne Richardson, regional network manager, said: “We are making it easier for customers to get their cash, send and collect their mail and do their banking because we know how important these services are to local residents."

The Post Office is now inviting customers and interested parties to give their comments on the move in a six-week public consultation.

The consultation will close on December 19. Submissions can be made during the consultation by Freepost YOUR COMMENTS to Post Office Ltd, via email to comments@postoffice.co.uk, via the Customer Helpline on 03457 22 33 44 or Textphone 03457 22 33 55.

Customers can also share their views online through the quick and easy questionnaire at postofficeviews.co.uk with the branch code 257618.
