THE first fundraising event for our One in Eight appeal by Herefordshire Council chairman takes place next weekend.
Cllr Brian Wilcox has pledged his support to our fundraising campaign to raise £60,000 to pay for a specialist nurse at The Haven in Hereford for two years.
On December 18 at 6pm and December 19 at 3pm there will be a Disney Frozen singalong at the Robert Owen Academy in Blackfriars Street.
Two singers will lead the warm-up and then everyone can sing-along as the film is played.
Children are invited to attend in Frozen costumes and prizes will be given for the best.
Refreshments are available from the Frozen cake and drinks stall.
The event will also raise money for the academy's social fund.
Cllr Wilcox supported The Haven during his year as Hereford Mayor in 2012-13 and raised £21,000.
He said: “The One in Eight Appeal has already been a huge success and I am hoping our combined efforts will provide Haven with a nurse for at least two years."
Cllr Wilcox's office is also arranging mini performances of the Frozen event at several venues, if children are unable to attend.
Tickets are £5 from Robert Owen Academy on 01432 513120.
