A MOTHER and her two daughters have arranged a fashion show and are taking part in the Great North Run to raise money for our Haven appeal.

Lyn Gummer, 59, has signed up to run the 13.1mile route in Newcastle in September with her daughters, Clair Burgoyne, 40, and Jo Cumbes, 36.

They were running it for two charities- The MS Society and Beating Bowel Cancer - and when they read about the One in Eight appeal in the Hereford Times they decided they would run for the Hereford Haven too.

The appeal aims to raise £30,000 for an extra nurse to help the Haven in St Owen Street cope with the increased demand for its support service for women with breast cancer.

Lyn said: "The Haven is all close to our hearts. It is such a special place for Hereford and does a great job."

She said she got talked into running the half marathon adding: "It will be a proud day for me doing it with both my daughters."

The fashion show on Wednesday, September 2 is at The Railways Club in Hereford at 7.30pm.

Colours Fundraising Fashion Shows will provide the models and clothes from high street shops, which will be for sale- some at 50 percent off the retail value.

Tickets are £10, which includes a glass of wine. Booking is essential from Lyn on 07966 475542 or email lyngummer@googlemail.com.
