A ROSS-on-Wye teenager who died suddenly from a suspected asthma attack was remembered at her school’s prize giving.
Lauren Hughes died in hospital in Stoke-on- Trent in May two days after falling ill.
The 15-year-old was a popular pupil at John Kyrle High School and both governors’ vicechairman Rod Barker and headteacher Nigel Griffiths paid tribute to her.
Lauren’s brother Liam and her boyfriend Luke Clarke were awarded the John Kyrle Princess Diana Memorial Awards for the way they supported the family and the wider community.
Elsewhere during the ceremony, the school’s best ever examination results were also mentioned and a number of students were given prizes, including Niles and Holly Weymen for their efforts in music.
