VERSES in honour of Leominster’s medieval saints will be used for the first time this weekend.

In the Middle Ages, people travelled miles to worship at the shrines of Edfrith, who founded a church on the Leominster Priory site, Aethelmod, a local martyr, and Haemma, the first abbot of Leominster.

Written in orthodox style by Simon Iredale, the verses are part of a series commemorating the Celtic saints of Britain.

They will be heard in the town’s Priory on Sunday at 6.30pm.
