THE family of an elderly cyclist who died following a collision with a car near Leominster have paid tribute to him.
Geoff Blore was airlifted to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham with severe head injuries, but died shortly afterwards.
The 82-year-old, who moved to Leominster three years ago, was an enthusiastic cyclist and in his younger days competed in many marathons.
He was also a writer and his book Dicky’s Bloody War told the story of his time as an evacuee during the Second World War, while during the 1940s and 1950s he raised funds for the RAF Benevolent Fund.
Anyone with information about the collision between Mr Blore’s bike and a silver Ford Focus that happened near the Brierley turning on the Hereford Road on Tuesday, January 15 can call police on 101, quoting reference 111-S-150113.
