The first ever Presteigne Food Trail proved popular with high street shops selling out of fresh produce.
Last Saturday’s food festival included an allotment open day, planting demonstrations, beekeeping talks, cookery workshops, gaslit tours of the Victorian Judge’s Logding and games on Wentes Meadow.
Lin Scrannage, who helped organise the trail, said: "The weather was truly awful but it didn’t really matter.
"Some of the shopkeepers said they took more in one day than they had over the Christmas period and that’s exactly what we wanted: to introduce people to Presteigne and show them what a lovely little town it is."
