HISTORIC Offa's Dyke has been named as one of the world’s top sites.
Built by King Offa in the eighth century to divide the English kingdom of Mercia from the Welsh kingdom of Powys, Offa’s Dyke is featured in the Lonely Planet's Best in Travel 2013 guide.
It has also been listed in the influential guidebook’s Great Wall Walks section.
The earthwork boundary is today enjoyed by thousands of walkers who travel the 177- mile long Offa’s Dyke trail which passes through Herefordshire at Rushock Hill, north of Kington, on its way from Prestatyn to Chepstow.
