A £10,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest has been offered on the 12th anniversary of Kirsty Jone’s murder in Chiang Mai.

Kirsty, from Talgarth near Hay-on-Wye, was killed while backpacking in Thailand on August 10, 2000.

Today, exactly 12 years on, Kirsty's mum Sue Jones has appealed for help at a press conference in Bangkok.

Police hope that the significant reward will prompt someone who has information that could lead to the arrest of the offender/s to come forward.

“I ask the people of Chiang Mai to help me find the person who took Kirsty’s life away," said Sue.

"Kirsty didn’t deserve to die. She had her whole life ahead of her."
