THE Globe café and art space sees the arrival on July 14-15 of a brand new event – Hay Fayre – with visitors promised what the organisers call ‘a taste of the extraordinary’.
The focus of the fair is a covered market, housing a selection of crafts, art, food and fashion including wood sculptors, jewellers, upholsterers, leather-workers and textiles.
The event will focus on participation and demonstration rather than simply shopping.
There are live displays of craftsmanship as well as a range of workshops for the young ones including circus skills, Bollywood dancing and mask making. Renowned children’s author Karen Wallace will be signing her books.
Music is another element.
Headlining the bill is Bristolbased Yes Sir Boss, a wonderfully upbeat band appearing at festivals all over Britain this summer.
