THE current exhibition at the Hay Makers Gallery in Hay-on-Wye is alive with spring colours and designs.

Ceramicist Sue Dunne’s pots reflect her year-round fascination with natural history and plant life, while Michelle Cowmeadow concentrates on decoration with her ceramics, working in blue with natural colours.

Also exhibiting is Laura Sowerby, a printmaker who enjoys taking more of a painter’s approach when it comes to colour, aiming to evoke an up-close experience of a place.

Visiting jeweller Amanda Ray combines raku-firing and jewellery, using glazes with a wide range of vibrant pigment leaving some surfaces unglazed and matt to create a contrast while Tracy Birchwood’s porcelain jewellery designs wrapped with very fine wire have a very contemporary feel.

The gallery is open seven days a week, Monday to Saturday 10.30am to 5pm and Sundays 11am to 4pm
