Bromyard’S Literary Festival is now in its third year, and will include a book launch by an unusual author, a literary trail through the town, and poetry participation for children.

The festival starts on Wednesday when local children will be presented with prizes in a poetry competition.

Then the weekend gets off to a barking start on March 17, with an appearance at the Conquest Theatre by canine author Ralph O’James Acock, a regular columnist for Bromyard’s monthly magazine, Off the Record.

There will be some 17 authors on the town’s first literary trail, which starts at the C o n q u e s t Theatre, moving on to The Falcon Hotel, and members of Border Poets will be reading from their new publication, Sheep, Smoke, Stone while Books, Books, Books of Tenbury will provide a selection of books for sale.

At the TIC, Britain’s Tea Poet will give readings and two further poets will be in residence at Dots Gallery. At the Crown and Sceptre, the theme will be children, with local children’s author Heather Buchanan, a children’s illustrator and a chance to read the poetry competition entries.
