FIRST, congratulations to chairman David Keyte and vice-chairman Tim Russon for taking over the club and getting rid of Simon Davey before it was too late.

Also for introducing the new seating at the Blackfriars end.

Let's hope we will need it next season with teams like Bristol Rovers, Swindon and Plymouth coming here.

Our support this season has been poor in spite of reduced admission for juniors and other innovations.

I think this was due to our poor start to the season, and over the whole season only winning four home league games scoring 23 goals at home, never mind the away results.

Only one other club in the whole football league won only four home games – that was Stockport (relegated) but they scored 31 goals. Even Lincoln, the other relegated club, won seven home games but only scored 18 goals.

The fact that we started home games playing four-five-one on occasions did not help. Poor Stuart Fleetwood ran himself into the ground having no support up front.

Here I must mention Adam Bartlett. Without him we would be in the Conference. He may have made a couple of mistakes but he more than made up for them.

We need a new captain, one who leads by example and can talk to and encourage the players around him. Not one with two red cards who gives away unnecessary free kicks around our own penalty area which leads to pressure on the defence and has cost us vital points.

So let's all look forward to the new season, get behind Jamie and the Bulls and buy your season tickets. No more fourfive- one at home.

Take the motto of the boys up the road: “Who Dares Wins.”
