MAY I address the many negative comments about the new Widemarsh Streeting paving?
I love it; quality materials and workmanship and an attractive design that blends in with the adjacent buildings.
I love the shallow, round nose kerbs as well; so easy to negotiate compared to the normal four inch ones, which represent a far greater tripping hazard.
But people don’t complain about these. Why? Because they are used to them, I suggest.
People who have accused the local councils of allowing the old heart of the city to be neglected in favour of the Edgar Street Grid should be delighted with this project.
Looking where you are going is surely a basic component of walking. I am disabled and where I step is crucial to me, else I may lose my balance. I recommend it to all your readers.
