THE cans and plastics recycling bins at the Old Barn Post Office and Stores, Longtown, are perpetually full.
It is very frustrating to make the six mile round trip with my month’s worth of recyclables, only to have to bring them home again, wasting my own time, and worse, valuable road fuel.
The good lady in the shop advises me that it is a ‘planning issue’ which prevents us from having more bins.
How crazy is that? If you won’t provide us with adequate facilities, how can we recycle?
