I must say a massive thank you for printing such a lovely story “A Soldier’s Story” – it was so touching.
My daughter and granddaughter Tracy and Kim Dawson organised it behind my back! I was overcome with emotion when I saw it on two pages.
Sgt William Pullinger was such a lovely man!
I would also like to thank McCartney and Stone (Simon) for having my father’s name. He would have been thrilled.
Also thank you to Hereford Museum for having a lovely display upstairs.
As you realise, once I am gone, no one will know about Friar Street. It was a good childhood hearing the military bands. The Military Club is still there.
Thank you all very much.
Barbara Dawson (nee Pullinger)
