A DORSTONE family which is spread across the globe are joining together to raise money for their one-year-old nephew who has Cystic Fibrosis.

At four weeks old Reggie was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis.

Now his family, from Dorstone, want to raise over £7,000 for a 'Jiggle Vest' for Reggie.

The vest is a 'high frequency chest wall oscillation vest' that will help Reggie cough up all his mucus more effectively.

Reggie's family say that the vest lowers his chances of infection and keeps his lungs healthier and working for longer.

Reggie was born last April in Shoalhaven Heads in Australia where his mother Kate moved five years ago after meeting her partner Mick.

"Me and both my sisters grew up in Dorstone in Herefordshire and after both went travelling they met their partners," said his aunty Georgia Glossop

"My sister moved to Australia around five years ago and my big sister Hannah met her husband in Ghana and has been living in Canada for the last 10 years.

"I still live in Dorstone. Because of Covid like hundreds of other families we have been separated for over a year and a half and none of us have even got to meet little Reggie yet, let alone support my sister through the difficult process of being a first time mum and the diagnosis of Cystic Fibrosis.

"Since he has had his diagnosis we have all been determined to raise awareness and fundraise so that Reggie and so many other people with CF can live a life unlimited."

One of Reggie's daily treatments is staying active and getting his lungs working so the family have organised a fundraising challenge on Saturday (June 26) as Reggie's Ramblers.

Reggie start the day with a 6.5 kilometre trike ride in Australia. The UK Ramblers will do 40km trek across the Brecon Beacons and finally the Canadian Ramblers will finish the day with a 40km Alberta hike.

The funds raised will be split with half going to the UK CF Trust to support their vital work for children like Reggie and half towards purchasing a 'Jiggle Vest' for Reggie.
