THIS year’s Garden Festival at Hellens in Much Marcle will be opened by Terry Walton, a man known to millions from his appearances on Radio 2’s Jeremy Vine show.

The festival, now in its second year as a fund-raiser for the Steiner Academy Hereford, features a wide range of exhibitors covering every aspect of garden culture and crafts, with Richard Fishbourne of Bugs & Beasties another special guest. Speakers at the event will include Brigit Strawbridge, from TV’s It’s Not Easy Being Green and The Big Green Idea; Kesta Wilkinson who will talk about straw-bale house-building; Schumacher award-winner Helen Ridout; and Graham Cole discussing Tools for Self-reliance.

As well as all things garden-related, there will be an array of live music, a ‘living’ chess game, story-telling, flag-making and other workshops.

The festival takes place on Saturday and Sunday, June 13 and 14, from 10am to 4pm at Hellens Manor, Much Marcle. For further information visit thegardenfestival. co.uk or call Gail on 07791 253720.
