AN appeal has been launched after a horse rider was assaulted in Herefordshire.
Pete Butcher, police press officer, said a man and his daughter were riding along a country lane in Petty France, near Ledbury at around 11.45am on Thursday January 15.
The driver of a silver Ford Mondeo estate car approached them from behind and as the horses were ridden into a tiny lay-by to allow the vehicle to pass them, the driver allegedly blocked them with his car and verbally and physically abused the male rider.
Police are keen to speak to the elderly man who was at the front of the queue of traffic going in the opposite direction and spoke to the suspect.
