TWO new festivals are set to come to Upton-Upon-Severn this year in addition to the popular festivals already running in the town.

Upton 48, the organisation behind the festivals, is looking to bring a "Spring Fling" event in March and an Oktoberfest in October.

The Spring Fling is running from March 13-15 and Oktoberfest from October 9-11.

Upton 48 derives its name from the concept of having 48 gigs spread across 11 venues, taking place over 48 hours.

Confirmed venues for Spring Fling include The Swan, The Anchor, The Boathouse, The King's Head and The White Lion, with more to be announced.

Oktoberfest will feature the same spread of 48 gigs across eleven venues in 48 hours, with exact details to be confirmed later this year.

On the Upton 48 website, it says: "It's been an exciting month for the Upton48 team, with plans in full swing for March's Spring Fling.

"In late October, our chair met with Malvern Hills District Council to discuss potential funding for promotional materials.

"We are pleased to say that the talk was a success, so keep an eye out for Upton48's banners and flyers appearing in the coming months.

"Arrangements are being made to introduce Upton48 wristbands for festival-goers. These wristbands will be optional and will allow for discounts in participating venues. The money made from these wristbands will go towards expanding and improving Upton48's future festivals."
