THE nautical theme for Ledbury Carnival this year certainly excited the imaginations of those who were keen to take part in the grand procession.

And shopkeepers in the market town were also happy to celebrate all things maritime by putting together themed shop window displays.

There was so much to admire at what Carnival Committee chairman, Johnny Chan called “a hot weather event”, he found he had personally taken 500 pictures of the the crowd-pleasing spectacular on August Bank Holiday Monday.

Carnival committee secretary, Jill Jupp said: “We achieved our aim of a community, inclusive and family fun filled day. We are a small group, and it would not be possible without the support of many local businesses, community groups, joint working with Ross Carnival Committee, Ledbury Town Council, Herefordshire Council, the Police and other individuals who go that extra mile.”
