IF you think street food and music are a great combination, the heart of Worcester will be a good place to be on August 31.

Organisers of the Worcester Disco and Street Food Festival in the Cathedral Square are promising “a free day-time family friendly event, set in front of the beautiful cathedral, followed by a ticketed after-party”.

A spokesman said: “ We have been putting on music events Worcester for six years now and I feel all of the hard work and experience has set us up perfectly to now create this landmark event , Street Food Festival. “We’re very excited to be working alongside Worcester Council, Worcester Bid and Cathedral square to deliver a day and night festival event right in the city centre. See you on August 31.”

The spokesman added: On the day expect music from artists like : Joey Negro, Todd Terry, Dimitri From Paris, Purple Disco Machine, Black Legend, Mella Dee, Dr Packer, Horse Meat Disco, Masters At Work."

And the special headline guest will be Black Legend, who will be celebrating the official 20th anniversary of the world tour and chart-topping record, “You See The Trouble With Me”.

Now with a career spanning 30 years, Black Legend is "the famous creator of UK’s singles chart hit, You See The Trouble With Me, that became a new millennium house classic as well as one of Ibiza’s anthems".

You See the Trouble with Me was first recorded by American soul artists Barry White and Ray Parker Jr, back in 1976,; but it became a hit all over again when Black Legend brought out a version in 2000.

The Worcester Disco and Street Food Fesitval will be raising funds for the Leukaemia Care charity.

Street food will be on offer from vendors including The Beefy Boys ,

Handmade Pizza Company, Café Bliss, Flats Doughnuts, Our Taste of Portugal, Greidys wings and strips and Indie Veggie catering.

The after-party will take place at Velvey Nightclub, from 10pm to 4pm.
