From Sapey Brook to Sicily will be the title of an exhibition at the Chapel Gallery in Bromyard.

It will run from Saturday, May 4 to Monday May 6.

A spokesman said: "This May Bank Holiday week-end an exhibition at The Chapel Gallery takes us on a journey around the beautiful countryside of Herefordshire and Worcestershire and captures images from abroad through the eyes of local painter Bill Evans.

"Bill was brought up in Whitbourne and has spent most of his working life there as a forester, farmer and estate manager, before embarking on his new career as a painter. He has exhibited locally in numerous exhibitions including Herefordshire Art Week, and for the last two years has had paintings accepted for the Royal Western Academy’s Annual Open Exhibition in Bristol."

The spokesman added: "This solo short exhibition at The Chapel brings together some of his most recent works reflecting his love of home and his fascination with abroad. Bill will be there to talk about his work.

"The exhibition is raising funds for Longlands care farm which provides a unique learning environment for young people and is home to Longlands Riding for the Disabled. The primary aim of the care farm is to re-engage young people in learning, helping them to build confidence and self-esteem through vocational training and meaningful work. Longlands is raising funds to build ‘The Roundhouse’ to accommodate the growing numbers of young people who benefit from their work."

From Sapey Brook to Sicily is on at The Chapel Gallery in Sherford Street over the May Bank holiday week-end, from Saturday 4th to Monday 6th open daily from 11am to 5pm.
