Work should begin next week in the installation of the replacement shelter at Ledbury Recreation Ground.

The start date, given by Ledbury town council, is Monday, April 15.

The new domed sheltered has power points which means it can double up as a bandstand and performance space.

Other improvements are likely in the near future, including mending a soft floor surface by the "spring motorbike' equipment, because it is believed to be a trip hazard.

An inspection has been organised by Ledbury Town Council, which owns the site.

Concern has also been raised about inadequate lighting on the recreation ground.

Herefordshire Council's contractor, Balfour Beatty, has been contacted by Cllr Jane Hopkins, chairman of the town's environment and leisure committee, to see what might be done.

But Balfour Beatty has denied that the lighting issues are its responsibility.
