THE THEATRE of the John Masefield High School in Ledbury will certainly be alive to the Sound of Music this weekend.

The ambitious school production will be entertaining audiences today (Friday March 8) and tomorrow (Saturday March 9), following months of rehearsals.

The Sound of Music was one of the most successful movies of all time, receiving five Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director.

The plot, based on a true story, focusses on the musical Von Trapp family, the children's governess, Maria the nun, and all on the eve of the Second World War in Austria.
