YOUNGSTERS at Ledbury Primary School may have discovered a new pastime in the run up to World Book Day, and it’s all down to a fun photography competition.
The children haven’t been encouraged to take up extreme sports but to participate instead in “extreme reading”.
The competition, being organised by the school library, is encouraging parents to take a picture of their children reading books in unusual places or unusual situations.
Examples given include “under a table, up a tree, or on a bike”.
And the fun continues along with the countdown to the big day.
The school will present a prize for the best photo.
World Book Day will take place on Thursday March 7.
World Book Day is described an annual “celebration of authors, illustrators, books and reading”.
