The Wellington Heath defibrillator is now up and running in the reconditioned former BT phone box on The Common, by the Farmers Arms pub.
Not only does the traditional red call box get a new lease of life, now the days of the public telephone are ending, it could also help to save lives in the future.
Now the next stage will be training sessions in the life-saving equipment.
Village correspondent, Peter Constantine said: “The defibrillator is thanks to a very generous grant from The Friends of Ledbury and District Healthcare charity and the fundraising efforts of Hannah Joplin and her team at the Farmers Arms who raised over £1,000.”
The training, on Thursdays during March at the Farmers Arms, is funded by HeartSafe.
