CHRISTINGLE is something of a festive tradition at Ledbury Parish Church.

The charming service originally began in the Moravian Church in Germany, but it is now a popular feature of Christmas in many UK churches.

Ledbury is no exception, and the Christmas Eve Christingle Service, at St Michael and All Angels Church, often attracts up to 600 people.

At one point, the church is lit by nothing but the glow from hundreds of candles.

Many of the candles are in oranges, because the round fruit represents the world.

The Christingle service at Ledbury Parish Church will take place from 4pm on Christmas Eve.

There will also be a Christingle service on Christmas Eve in Bosbury Church, from 4.30pm.
