A fairy-tale castle is magical at any time of the year, but at Christmas Eastnor Castle in Herefordshire transforms into a sparkling back-drop to make even the Scroogiest amongst us feel slightly festive.

On the evening of Thursday, December 20, Eastnor Castle owner James Hervey-Bathurst is inviting everyone to a very special and unique Christmas soiree. The event will raise money for the Eastnor Church Tower Appeal to allow it to continue its work as the hub of the local community.

The castle doors swing open at 6pm for three scheduled tours, each led by James himself and will take in the beautifully decorated main hall including a 20-foot tree featuring decorations handed down through generations. The historic bedrooms and the atmospheric, candle-lit dining room will give people a glimpse into Christmas from a bygone era.

The tour will include wine and mince pies as well as a carol concert by Ledbury Choral Society.

Tickets, £25, are available online at eastnorcastle.com
