ADVANCE tickets for the Ledbury Charity Fireworks Bonanza are going with a real boom, much to the delight of organiser, James Pugh.

Tickets bought beforehand are cheaper than the ones that will be offered on the gate.

But the main reason for offering them is to prevent long traffic queues on the night and to make sure there are no traffic problems on the Ross Road, which is the access point for the site.

Mr Pugh said: "We just want people to have a great time."

The event could be on course to become the single largest one-day event on Ledbury's calendar, overtaking even the Carnival when it comes down to crowd numbers.

Last year, the Fireworks Bonanza attracted around 5,000 people to the Hazle Meadows venue, off the Ross Road.

Mr Pugh has high hopes that this year's event will be even more successful, and all the stops are being pulled out to make the third Fireworks Bonanza "the biggest and the best so far".

Attractions on Saturday, November 10 will include two firework displays; live music with the popular local band, Frontrunner, who will keep playing during the displays; hot food, a bar, and rides with Rogers' fun fair.

There will also be a competition, with prizes on offer, for the best Guy, and this will be open to all ages, nurseries, schools, clubs and organisations.

Scores of pallets have already been delivered to the Hazle Meadows venue, for a bonfire to remember.

Charities and good causes to benefit will include the Rotary Club, Ledbury Carnival, Ledbury Rotary, Ledbury Christmas Lights and the Fire Brigade.

Gates to the Ledbury Charity Fireworks Bonanza on November 10 will open at 4pm on the day.

Ledbury Rotary will be helping with the marshalling.

The bonfire will be lit at 6pm.

The firework displays will be at 6.30pm and 7.30pm.
