AS the John Masefield High School celebrates its 40th anniversary this year, the Performing Arts Department has chosen to put on one of its favourites things, the classic Rodgers and Hammerstein musical The Sound of Music.

More than 100 students have auditioned and with the orchestra and stage crew the school anticipates in excess of 150 children being involved in the performances.

The show actually goes next year, on March 8 and March 9, with tickets available on positickets.co.uk in the New Year.

A school spokesman said: "Come and be part of something good."
