THE Music Pool, the county's community music charity, will be bringing some seasonal musical cheer to shoppers at a major Hereford supermarket this weekend. On Saturday, from 12 noon until 2pm, customers at Sainsbury's will be serenaded by the popular choir The Garrick Singers and also by Robbie and the Ripples, the string trio specialising in close harmony and 60s classics.
"We're really grateful to the team at Sainsbury's for this chance to entertain local customers, and also make a fundraising collection towards the cost of our music work in the community," said Dennis Schiavon from The Music Pool. "This is part of a UK-wide idea that Sainsbury's are putting on, called 'Sing While You Shop', and we're happy to help. We hope to put a smile on people's faces, and maybe get them to join in for a chorus or two while getting their groceries in!"
The Music Pool has recently launched its 'Splash!' Appeal, as featured in last week's Hereford Times. If anyone needs any more details about its work helping Herefordshire people, please visit musicpool.org.uk or email friends@musicpool.org.uk
